    Description of Your Map:
I built this map cause I was bored, but I realized that maybe SxC could find a use for it. It depicts the British trench lines in 1918, France, Peronne Sector, during the German Spring Offensive. It includes several artillery guns, an underground barracks, an officer's quarters, medic tents, bunkers, MG nests, shell casing piles, barbed wire, a rail gun, an observation balloon, poppy patches, a tank, and several anti-air balloons.
    Coordinates of Build:
    10:-19
    Agreement:
Yes I do accept the above

    I added a Brisfit F.2B attack/reconnaissance plane. I'll probably also make some one-seater aircraft.

Been a while since I worked on my map, but I added two interesting additions.

    2017-04-11_10.24.51.png

The German Spring offensive began with a huge artillery bombardment, stunning the British defenders. Over 3,500,000 shells were fired in just five hours by the Germans. As Winston Churchill put it:

And then, exactly as a pianist runs his hands across the keyboard from treble to bass, there rose in less than one minute the most tremendous cannonade I shall ever hear...It swept round us in a wide curve of red leaping flame stretching to the north far along the front of the Third Army, as well as of the Fifth Army on the south, and quite unending in either direction...the enormous explosions of the shells upon our trenches seemed almost to touch each other, with hardly an interval in space or time...The weight and intensity of the bombardment surpassed anything which anyone had ever known before.

The soldiers of WW1 were no strangers to the brutality of artillery. French soldiers at Verdun had seen entire forests die overnight. The intense heat from the shells started forest fires and burned trees everywhere. Their scarred carcasses remained as a dreary reminder to the soldiers that even an innocent tree is not safe from the fire of an explosive shell.

Also, the artillery looks totally cool in the night sky
